Easy Powering Solution For Micro:bit
If you want to display micro:bit separately without PC, so how to solve the power problem? Here you can use keyestudio power supply shield for micro:bit.
For this power supply shield, onboard comes with a DIP switch for power control, and two interfaces access to two-cell AA batteries, each supply 1.5V. Also the pin headers are brought out on the board, easy for wire connection.
The most convenient point is that it can be directly connected to micro:bit using JST connector wire.
Next, let me show you an example to use this power supply shield with micro:bit. We are going to make the micro:bit built-in 5*5 LED matrix display images.
Firstly, connect the micro:bit main board to your computer; open the microbit MakeCode Blocks on the browser page.
We make a sample code to let the micro:bit display two images. Shown below.
Download the code and then send to your micro:bit main board.
Then, plug out the USB cable, and insert the micro:bit main board into keyestudio power supply shield.
Connect two AA batteries to the shield, and connect the white connector on the shield to the micro:bit connector using JST connector wire.
Finally turn on the DIP switch on the shield, then you will see the micro:bit continue to display the images.
So it is indeed simple for you to use this power shield for micro:bit and to keep displaying.
